Superb oil painting on canvas laid on board in an ornate period timber frame.
Signed "Hanke" lower left. The artist's name, the date, the title of the work and some information about the painting, are inscribed verso.

The painting has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition for a work of this age. The ornate period frame is chipped and worn but is otherwise stable and intact.Note: This work was painted in 1954 and depicts the Talbingo landscape near Tumut, New South Wales prior to it being inundated for the Tumut Ponds Dam as a part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme.
