Acquired by the Art Gallery of Ballarat. This work featured in their exhibition 'Becoming Modern, Australian Women Artists 1920-1950' and will form a part of the Gallery's permanent collection.

    Lovely large oil painting on board with a timber slip in an imposing and ornate gilt period frame. A superb early work by this artist.

    Signed and dated "N Gude 1939" lower right.

    Image 75 x 55 cm / frame  107 x 86.5 cm.

    The painting has areas of craquelure upper left and upper centre and the canvas is thin in places but is otherwise stable. The frame is marked and worn with some loss at the rear and has received some restoration.

    Please note: To minimize the risk of damage to the paintings heavy ornate gilt frame, we will not ship this work. Pick up only.
